PhilanthroBit is an Ottawa, Canada based social purpose start-up founded in 2021 working towards becoming a certified B Corporation. We are building a membership-based community investment ecosystem that educates, empowers and rewards participating individuals and entities.

Beyond social enterprises raising via tokenized Equity Crowdfunding, for the first time, not-for-profits will be able to issue innovative tokenized Community Bonds. We will do this by employing equity crowdfunding exemption rules in Canada and the U.S. In the future, the platform will also power PhilanthroBit’s evergreen Social Impact Fund that will co-invest in listed projects and bonds in order to further support the communities we aim to serve.

Leveraging smart contracts (blockchain) technology and digital assets, our investment portal will automate cap table (share) management and Board governance, creation of Special Purpose investment Vehicles (SPV) and shares issuance. All of this in a compliant and secure way while operating as a government regulated Equity Crowdfunding Portal.

To better serve our members, starting with Ottawa we will open a series of retail locations that will offer active, hands-on Bitcoin education and access to professional free and paid consultation services in order to understand and leverage the emerging Bitcoin economy.

In addition, we aim to serve as the bridge that will connect our retail members to our non-profit and corporate Community Partners’; thus empowering them to gain additional support and services.
